Frederick A. Charles Sr. is a Washington, DC native and President & CEO of Charles and Sons Remodeling Inc., a family-owned company with roots dating back to the 1960s. Under his leadership, the company has become known for its eco-friendly remodeling, energy-efficient solutions, architectural planning, and drafting design.

Mr. Charles began working alongside his father, John Charles Sr., at just 12 years old, learning the foundations of remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and quality craftsmanship. At 21, he studied architectural drafting at the Maryland Drafting Institute before joining Clark Construction, where he worked in blueprint layout and led a stairwell construction crew.

He later founded Live Better Home Improvement in Florida, reflecting his passion for sustainable, customer-focused home improvement. In 2001, he returned to Washington, DC, to rejoin the family business and help transition its focus toward environmentally responsible remodeling.

In 2005, Mr. Charles expanded his expertise in green building under the mentorship of Keith Ware at Future Green, Washington, DC's first eco-friendly retail store. There, he strengthened his knowledge of energy conservation, healthy building materials, fair-trade sourcing, and EPA-compliant practices.

Today, Mr. Charles continues to lead Charles and Sons Remodeling Inc. with a commitment to energy efficiency, healthier homes, and sustainable construction. He maintains active HVAC certifications and licensing while continuing his professional education to ensure clients receive the highest standards of service and innovation.
